The challenge
Where they started
Salisbury Poultry — one of the largest chicken suppliers in the country — had grown a fleet of countless cheap retail printers across the business. Individually inexpensive to buy, they were enormously expensive to run, with costly consumables, no central control and constant maintenance headaches.
A move into a huge, newly built premises in Bilston was the perfect moment to modernise how the whole operation printed.
What we did
The A-Stat solution
We systematically replaced the expensive-to-run retail devices with a smaller number of robust, centrally operated Toshiba multifunction machines, positioned at the key locations across the new site where teams actually need them.
The result is a single managed print solution: predictable cost-per-page, proactive toner and consumables, central monitoring and one accountable supplier — instead of a drawer full of ink-jet cartridges and a stack of invoices.
We phased the rollout around their operations so production was never interrupted during the transition.
The outcome
The results
- ✓A fortune saved in print costs by cutting out high-running-cost retail consumables.
- ✓Fewer, better-placed devices doing more — with central control and monitoring.
- ✓A modern, efficient print operation fit for a major national food producer.
- ✓One managed agreement covering hardware, toner, service and support.
“Replacing a sea of cheap printers with the right managed devices is one of the fastest ways a business cuts cost — Salisbury Poultry is exactly that story.”
